Week #3, June 23rd 2008
1. Radishes – Eat the spicy root and the mild greens raw or cooked. Greens will store longer if you cut them off the root. (I prefer radish greens cooked due to their texture raw.)
2. Hakurei Turnips – Eat the mild root and greens raw or cooked. Greens will store longer if you cut them off the root.
3. Lettuce Mix – already washed twice and ready for your bowl.
4. Lamb’s Quarters – already washed, but you will want to pick the leaves off of the thicker stems.
5. Broccoli sampler – mostly “Nurti-Bud” variety from Seed Savers, it has a higher level than other broccoli of something that is really good for your brain.
6. Oregano
7. Lemon Thyme
8. Chamomile – to make fresh tea, put the flower heads in boiling water, let steep until desired strength is reached. Perhaps sweeten with honey.
